Membership: Those already into science & crypto
Structure: One DAO/non-profit hybrid "parent" and a handful of child expert DAOs
Membership: Crypto-curious members of the open science/citizen science/biohacking communities
Structure: Increasing number of expert DAOs with varying autonomy by access to experimental compounds & knowledgeable peers
Membership: The Research Collective stops recruiting new members; responsibility for certifying/validating is increasingly shifted to other reputable DAOs and individuals.
Structure: Many expert DAOs, many Collectives. A distributed swarm of legal, ethereal, and hybrid entities working towards collaborative goals.
Membership: anyone who self identifies as a researcher, ala Anonymous. (Bad actors abusing the name are trolled/downvoted until they disassociate from the brand.)
Structure: "These “self-organizing collective intelligences” (SOCI), are a new kind of socio-cultural phenomenon that is beginning to emerge in the niche created by the Internet. They involve attractive generator functions dropped into the hive mind that gather attention, use that attention to build more capacity and then grow into something progressively real and self-sustaining."
If the Research Collective becomes a globally recognized entity, capable of shaping what is 'true' in the minds of the public, it runs the risk of becoming another status-quo-promoting leviathan.
Consequently, the termination of the central node(s) should be not just expected, but planned for.
